It was a hell of a day.
The ladies had a grand adventure chasing down Oscar and accidentally zombies, and the guys nearly got murdered by an eldritch horror. Again.
So now the dudes have to rest because going to the super-dangerous mines when tired is a terrible idea.
They've got a day or two to kill, so this is for what happens while the guys (mostly Malcer because holy fuck dude) are recovering.

Velo no don't hit on your friends.
"Excuse you, I always think before I act. Just... not for as long as I should at times "
Velo stops what she was workig on and leans back in her chair with a sigh. Nin did have a good point.
"You'd think I'd have learned by now, seeing as that's what got me sent here in the first place. Some habits are hardr to break, I guess. Plus, it's worked out some of the time, right?"

If Velo was hitting on her then Nin is either ignoring it or she didn't even notice it. No one will ever know the truth. And it's probably best that way.
"Mmm...So far, yes. You're a pretty lucky lady, but luck runs out eventually, and then you're in worse trouble than before. It's better to rely on your own intelligence rather than on chance, don't you think?"

That's more of an excuse than anything else, though.
"But you're right. I'll try to work on it in the future, but if you all start being indecisive at a bad tine I'm going to start making decisions regardless."

Nin doesn't expect Velo to have a magical overnight transformation into a cautious and deliberate person; something like that would dramatically change who Velo is. She's plenty satisfied with Velo's promise to work on it.
"And I think that's perfectly fair."

That temple thing sure was fun, wasn't it.
"Likewise, once we get Varis to stop putting things in his mouth, I won't stop you from drinking. Just be a bit careful. Unless it's really funny. And be careful with those brownies. I tried one the night after the Archive thing and... I think I remember shocking Varis? It was strong."

Let's not talk about the temple ever again.
She raises an eyebrow at Velo's caveat to taking care. "Really funny like hashtag-plants-vs-party?" Then she shakes her head. She's not actually looking for an answer there. "This probably won't surprise you, but I grew up on the kinds of herbs Funky puts in his brownies. I mean, they weren't like. An every day thing? But I'm definitely familiar." Which doesn't negate Velo's caution. As someone who feels like she spends nearly all of her waking hours worrying about her stupid, lovable companions, it's nice to be reminded that her companions also worry about her.
"...With that said, thank you for the caution. I'll watch out for the fun weeds, too."

Honestly, Velo is happer now that Gorudak is less of a giant stick in the mud.
"We'll play it as it comes. I'd like to avoid another blackout-drunk incident, but maybe if you've got someone sober to keep you in check, go for it. Whatever makes you happy."
She's about to leave it there, but Nin's comment about being familiar with plants gives her an idea...
"I'm curious, though, what other fun plants do you know? I wonder if there's anything potent enough I can cover a bullet with to give it more of a kick."

If we're being honest, it's likely everyone is a lot happier now that Gorudak is less of a giant stick in the mud.
"You have nothing to worry about there. One blackout drunk party was more than enough for me. And about ten city blocks."
Heh. Oops. She's a lot less sorry about that now after spending so much time with Funky, locating and cataloguing and figuring out exactly what she'd encouraged to grow in those city blocks. Almost all of the plants there will hugely benefit the city. Many of the non-medicinal ones are perfectly edible, and, with the proper care, have the potential to become easily cultivable dietary staples for the city's inhabitants. So, all in all, not a bad night's bender.
"Oooooh....Hmm....There's. Hm. How big are your bullets? Pretty small, huh..." She taps her chin thoughtfully for a few moments as she goes over her mental list of "fun" herbs. "There's...Hm. Most of the things I'm thinking of, you'd need in such high concentrations to have any effect it wouldn't really be practical. Buuuuut we could probably get some fun results with poppies."

Velo digs around in a small bag at her feet, pulling out one of the rounds for her gun. It's of a decent caliber, but still a lot smaller than an arrow, or even a crossbow bolt. She considers the bullet, mentally taking it apart to find a way to deliver some sort of liquid payload with it.
"...I may be able to hollow out the slug and fill it with something. It still wouldn't be a big dose, but a hollow bullet will shatter on impact. If I hit flesh, that will deposit whatever payload it's got right into the blood. So if we use poppies, we might be able to get some really high really fast after a couple shots."

Velo puts the bullet down in favor of a pad and pen, starting to sketch out a quick design of this theoretical opium bullet.
"I could also make a longer shell to make more room, but it would sacrifice distance. The more potent the payload, the better."
